Carlson Rezidor enters Angola with five Park Inns by Radisson hotels

Carlson Rezidor enters the Angolan market with the signing of five hotels across the South African country for a total of 650 additional rooms.

After the group's recent announcement of plans to open more than 23,000 rooms across Africa by the end of 2020, Carlson Rezidor announced the opening of five units in Angola under the Park Inn brand. Operating in the midscale segment, these properties are scheduled to open in the next 18 months in Luanda, Cabinda, Benguela, Lubango and Namibia. The hotels are new constructions developed in partnership with InfoTur (Instituto de Fomento Turistico de Angola). They will offer meeting rooms, a fitness center, restaurants, bars and a swimming pool.

These additions represent 650 new rooms, thus confirming the hotel group's growth strategy initiated in 2014 across the African continent. As of January 2016, HNA and Carlson Rezidor together ranked 11th largest hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 1,145 hotels totaling 182,521 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
