B&B Hôtels aims for 600 properties in 2020

The French hotel chain B&B Hôtels wants to reach a portfolio of 600 properties, meaning 50,000 rooms, by 2020. This growth is expected to be distributed: one third in France, one third in Germany and one third in the rest of the world.

B&B Hotels has been growing continuously for several years and has announced its goal for a portfolio of 50,000 rooms by the year 2020. The French group is positioned on the economy segment; it recorded growth in its business volume by +15% in 2016, meaning 424 million euros. The hotel chain opened 36 new properties in 2016.

Owned in majority by the investment company PAI Partners, the group is focused especially on the French market, including the cities of Paris and Nice, as well as Southern Europe and Brazil. A first hotel is expected to open in Sao Paulo at the end of 2017. Four other projects are also planned for 2018 and 2019. In January 2017, the chain also launched a 100 million euro renovation plan over a three year period. This program concerns 84 of its properties.

As a reminder, B&B Hotels bought the Spanish group Sidorme in late 2016, adding 1,300 rooms to its portfolio. On January 1, 2017, the group ranked 11th largest integrated hotel chain in Europe, with 391 properties and 33,556 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
