
Sheraton will become the first international brand to arrive on the Polynesian island of Samoa, as Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of two separate management agreements. The Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows and Aggie Grey's Lagoon Beach Resort & Spa will become the Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Hotel (198 rooms) and the Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Resort (140 rooms) respectively.Both hotels are owned by the Grey family, who has a previous relationship with Starwood Hotels through the Le Meridien Resort in Tahiti. "We are thrilled to have a leading global hotel brand in Samoa and believe it will have a positive impact on the destination's development. In partnership with Starwood, we will attract more visitors to Samoa by appealing to a wider audience with the iconic Sheraton brand", says Fred Grey, current owner and Managing Director of the Aggie Grey's Group.Multi-million dollar renovations should see both hotels reopen by mid-2014.
