Sheraton will become the first international brand to arrive on the Polynesian island of Samoa, as Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of two separate management agreements. The Aggie Grey's Hotel & Bungalows and Aggie Grey's Lagoon Beach Resort & Spa will become the Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Hotel (198 rooms) and the Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey's Resort (140 rooms) respectively. Both hotels are owned by the Grey family, who has a previous relationship with Starwood Hotels through the Le Meridien Resort in Tahiti. "We are thrilled to have a leading global hotel brand in Samoa and believe it will have a positive impact on the destination's development. In partnership with Starwood, we will attract more visitors to Samoa by appealing to a wider audience with the iconic Sheraton brand", says Fred Grey, current owner and Managing Director of the Aggie Grey's Group.Multi-million dollar renovations should see both hotels reopen by mid-2014.
