
Accor's Sofitel brand is further securing itself in the luxury segment with the expansion of its resorts network abroad. The brand has recently opened Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa, and Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort is set to open on December 20th, 2013.Opened in July 2013, the Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa is surrounded by a private 500-meter beach on the East Crescent. Aside from 361 guestrooms with 182 fully serviced residences, the resort includes the kid's club, seven restaurants, a nightclub, the SoFit fitness center, SoSpa with 28 treatment rooms, and conference facilities for up to 700 guests.Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort will debut the brand in Indonesia in a month, with 415 rooms comprised of 17 Private Villas, 22 Prestige Suites, and 376 Luxury Rooms. In addition, the establishment will offer three restaurants with two bars and a club lounge, the SoFit and SoSpa concepts, function space for up to 600 guests, and the kids club.According to Sami Nasser, senior vice-president for Sofitel Africa and Middle East, the brand will continue to capitalize on key emerging markets with two properties in Saudi Arabia in 2015, in Mecca and Riyadh. The group will then move into Africa to continue development: in Tamuda Bay, Morocco in 2014 and another in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.With recent and future openings, it is apparent that the Sofitel brand is focusing on markets with high growth potential in order to further entrench itself in the luxury segment.
