Riu Hotels & Resorts has opened its first urban hotel in Mexico, in the city of Guadalajara, the second property under its nascent Riu Plaza brand.

The 557-key Riu Plaza Guadalajara debuts nine months after the upper-upscale brand’s launch in Panama City.
