Queen Elizabeth 2 Accor

The Accor group will operate Dubai's first and only floating hotel under the MGallery brand.

The Queen Elizabeth 2 is a legendary liner which, thanks to Accor, will be back in service in May, having undergone modernisation and refurbishment to operate under the MGallery brand.

Once the renovation is complete, the liner will have 447 rooms, nine dining areas, 10 meeting rooms, 5,620 square metres of outdoor event space, six shops, a swimming pool and a gym.

For this project, Accor is collaborating with Dubai's state-owned Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) Investments LLC, established in 2001, which brings together various entities and authorities under its umbrella.

PCFC Investments LLC is a private equity company whose main mission is to invest in commercial companies and manage assets. The collaboration with the hospitality group on this project allows the company to expand its portfolio of assets while ensuring continued growth.

The Queen Elizabeth 2 will anchor in Dubai's Port Rashid off Sheikh Zayed Road, providing easy access to the destination's many tourist attractions. Nearby attractions include Dubai International Airport, Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and La Mer Beach as well as the Palm Jumeirah and Mall of the Emirates.

The Queen Elizabeth has left its mark on history and we are confident that Accor will continue its legacy. The ship's heritage and reputation will make it a destination in its own right, where guests and visitors alike will enjoy unparalleled experiences.

Said Al-Bannai, Managing Director of PCFC Investment

This is an excellent opportunity for Accor to expand its presence in the U.A.E. through a unique project, which will diversify its portfolio and strengthen the MGallery brand presence in Dubai. We will operate the only floating hotel in the city and at the same time contribute to the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2049, which aims to ensure sustainable urban development while enhancing the attractiveness of this international destination. [...] We are confident that the refurbished MGallery Queen Elizabeth 2 will become a must-see attraction, sharing its rich history with guests while providing them with an unforgettable onboard experience.

Mark Willis, Managing Director, Accor India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey

Accor currently operates 62 properties with 18,562 keys in the United Arab Emirates, with an additional 20 new properties with 5,831 keys planned.
