Premier Inn's ambitious targets for development

The Whitbread group announced increases in revenue and like-for-like sales, targeting to expand its Premier Inn chain by 45% by 2018.

Seeing revenue increases of 14.2% to more than £2 billion and like-for-like sales increases of 3.7%, the Whitbread group announced ambitious targets to grow its Premier Inn brand.In April 2011, the group established the goal to grow Premier Inn UK rooms by 50% to 65 000 rooms. Now the group has upped the ante to grow the Premier Inn chain by 45% by 2018, the brand's portfolio will be at 75 000 rooms.With the new goal in place to increase Premier Inn’s presence, new jobs will be opening up. This expansion should see the creation of 3 000 new jobs in the UK in the 2012-2013 year, with a further 12 000 jobs expected over the next five years.
