
It took 400 days for Accor's luxury brand to renovate the former palace dating from the early twentieth century, in order to install the brand's new Latin American flagship. Located in the capital of Uruguay, Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco and Spa opened the doors to its 93 rooms and 23 suites in March 2013.The opening of the new establishment symbolizes the importance of Latin America in the development strategy of the Sofitel brand, which has recently begun to strengthen its network in the region, as well as the Middle East, Africa and Asia. In the years 2012 and 2013, the luxury brand has signed seven new contracts, for nearly 3,000 rooms in destinations such as Ivory Coast, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Indonesia, New Zealand and China.
