New Hospitality Product Develops in Quake-Stricken Japan

A pre-fabricated hotel is built for relief workers.

There are many humanitarian workers travelling to Japan but they have no lodging which brings Sparx Group's initiative to build pre-fabricated hotels.Shuhei Abe, Sparx' CEO, quoted to Bloomberg, “There is a clear gap between supply and demand in the quake-stricken area when it comes to lodging...This presented an opportunity for an investor like us to participate in Japan’s reconstruction effort, while securing decent returns.”Sparx Group Co. has partnered with Kachikaihatsu Co. to build a pre-fabricated 314-room hotel in Miyagi that will carry a pricetag of $14 million.
