Minor Hotels has announced its strategic entry into Bahrain with the debut of two hotels under its Avani and Tivoli brands, scheduled to open in 2024.
Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort and Tivoli Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain will be part of the Bilaj Al Jazayer tourism and leisure development project, owned by the Edamah real estate company owned by Mumtalakal, the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
NH Hotel Group's principal shareholder currently has 29 hotels and resorts in operation and in the pipeline in the Middle East through its Anantara, Avani, Tivoli and Oaks brands, with plans to launch two new brands in the region: NH Collection and NH Hotels.
The Bilaj Al Jazayer complex, with 130 hectares of land and three kilometers of beach, is located on the southwest coast of Bahrain. It is close to the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), the Dilmun Water Park and a 25-minute drive from Manama, the country's capital and main city.
The new Avani and Tivoli hotels, each with 110 rooms and suites, will be built on the Bilaj Al Jazayer waterfront promenade, facing the sea.
Strategically, Minor Hotels' entry into Bahrain is of key importance to the group, as it strengthens our portfolio in the region and allows us to continue to grow the Avani and Tivoli brands.
William E. Heinecke, chairman and founder of Minor International Group
The addition of the Avani and Tivoli brands in Bahrain demonstrates our continued commitment to operating in the Middle East and growing these two brands in the region. It is an honor to partner with Edamah, the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain, in the creation of these first hotels in the Bilaj Al Jazayer development project, and we look forward to a mutually rewarding partnership in the years to come.
