The M&C hospitality portfolio will include a total of 10 properties with over 3,500 rooms in the world’s fastest growing economy in the next three years.
Millennium & Copthorne will be opening the 5-star Millennium Hangzhou Resort in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province in 2013, adding 151 rooms to the market. This will be their seventh hotel in China, after Millennium Hotel Chengdu, Millennium Harbourview Hotel Xiamen, Millennium Hotel Wuxi, Copthorne Hotel Qingdao, and the Grand Millennium Beijing Hotel.“This is in line with M&C’s strategy of expanding its footprint in China by owning, or managing hotels in the world’s fastest growing economy and potentially the largest global tourist market,” says M&C Chairman, Kwek Leng Beng. M&C will be opening two other properties in China over the next three years, bringing the M&C hospitality portfolio to a total of 10 properties with over 3,500 rooms in China.
