MGM Hospitality is raising its goals for nongaming expansion into China, now aiming to open as many as 30 hotels in the country by 2015.
The nongaming division of Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts International has nine projects under development in China—about half of the group’s development pipeline in Asia Pacific—and its regional development chief believes expansion could accelerate beyond what was expected as recently as last year.MGM Hospitality plans to open its first hotel in the country in Sanya later this year.
