In Italy, Melià Hotels International signed for the development of Melià Villa Capri, on the island of Capri, and Melià Siracusa Mare, in Sicily. The two establishments will have 19 and 187 rooms respectively and are positioned on the luxury segment. The opening of Melià Siracusa Mare is expected for 2014 and marks the group's entry into Sicily. Melià Hotels International also announced expansion in Brazil with the opening of Melià Paiva, in Pernambuco in 2015, and Innside Barra in 2016.
