Meliá has announced the 2015 opening of the five-star Meliá Puerto Ordaz for 160 rooms. Puerto Ordaz is an important industrial center, with one of the most powerful hydroelectric power plants in the world. This hotel will join two existing Meliá properties in the country, including the Gran Meliá Caracas (pictured).Focus on expanding in Latin America has led to a current portfolio in the region of 63 hotels for over 21,000 rooms, reaching over 12 countries. The group has a pipeline of an additional 15 hotels to enter the Latin American market, via Brazil, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Cuba and Costa Rica.
