This is an exclusive long-term licensing agreement between Marriott International, Inc. and MGM Resorts International. The collaboration is scheduled to launch in October 2023 and will encompass 17 MGM resorts, with over 40,000 rooms in Las Vegas and various cities across the United States.
Starting in October, several MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy resorts will be available for booking on Marriott's digital platforms, including Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app. By the end of the year, all properties will be available. These properties will also remain bookable through MGM Resorts channels, such as MGMRewards.com and the MGM Resorts mobile app.
This agreement between MGM Resorts and Marriott aims to enhance the benefits offered to members of their loyalty programs. MGM Rewards, MGM Resorts' renowned loyalty platform with over 40 million members worldwide, will enable its members to link their accounts to Marriott Bonvoy and benefit from certain advantages. Similarly, Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott's award-winning loyalty platform with over 180 million members worldwide, will enable members to earn and redeem points for stays at all MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy properties.
Of the 17 MGM properties joining the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy, four will align themselves with existing Marriott Collection brands: Bellagio Resort & Casino will become part of The Luxury Collection, ARIA Resort & Casino will join Autograph Collection, Park MGM will be affiliated with Tribute Portfolio, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will maintain its association with Autograph Collection.
Eight MGM properties in Las Vegas will join the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy: Vdara Hotel & Spa, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, NoMad Las Vegas, The Signature at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel and Casino, and Excalibur Hotel & Casino.
In addition, five MGM resorts in other U.S. cities will become part of the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy: Borgata (Atlantic City, New Jersey), Beau Rivage (Biloxi, Mississippi), MGM Grand Detroit (Michigan), MGM National Harbor (Maryland) and MGM Springfield (Massachusetts).
"This historic long-term agreement brings together two of the most trusted and iconic brands in hospitality and entertainment. We've seen first-hand the strong demand from Marriott International guests for our existing relationship with the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and this new agreement will allow us to further optimize our overall profitability. We're delighted to extend this relationship and offer Marriott Bonvoy members greater access to our award-winning resorts - as well as exclusive events and entertainment - in Las Vegas and across the U.S. - Bill Hornbuckle, President and CEO, MGM Resorts
"We're thrilled to make MGM Resorts' incredible properties available on Marriott channels, allowing our members to enjoy Marriott Bonvoy benefits when staying at MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy resorts. We look forward to increasing our overall room distribution by 2.4%, while strengthening our presence on the Las Vegas Strip and in other attractive destinations across the United States." - Anthony Capuano, President and CEO, Marriott International
Marriott and MGM enhance member experience
Marriott Bonvoy members will enjoy benefits at MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy properties, while MGM Rewards members will receive select benefits at Marriott Bonvoy's global portfolio of over 8,500 properties. Members of both programs will also be able to redeem points between MGM Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy. MGM's dining, entertainment and sports offerings will enhance Marriott Bonvoy Moments, the program that gives members access to unrivalled experiences tailored to their passions. Further details on linking loyalty accounts, new experiences and program benefits will be provided to members in the coming months.
Marriott International has also entered into a loyalty marketing agreement with BetMGM, the online gaming and sports betting joint venture of MGM Resorts International, making Marriott Bonvoy the exclusive partner for the hotel loyalty program in the US and Canada. Through this partnership, Marriott and BetMGM will work together to offer Marriott Bonvoy members opportunities to earn points on specific BetMGM transactions, access exclusive games, experiences and offers on the BetMGM platform. In addition, BetMGM Rewards members will be able to convert BetMGM Rewards points into Marriott Bonvoy points. Further details on this collaboration will be available in the autumn.
"We couldn't be more excited to be able to offer Marriott Bonvoy members and our players an incredible new set of benefits that can only be found at BetMGM. Our new agreement with Marriott International will create a truly robust rewards program that connects our players and Marriott guests to BetMGM's complete omnichannel experience." - Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM, Chief Executive Officer
