The Logis Hotels network represents a total of 2,400 hotels with 47,000 rooms and 1,800 restaurants.
Despite the current economic situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, Logis Hotels' turnover increased by 11% in July and August compared to the same period in 2019.
This overall increase, however, conceals disparities in development depending on the location of the properties. The tourist destinations of Languedoc-Roussillon, Aquitaine and Brittany were the most solicited, unlike the urban ones.
Hoteliers received last-minute bookings throughout the summer, limiting visibility on the future activity of their properties.
This increase observed in July and August, however, did not offset the 30% drop in turnover in the first half of 2020 compared with 2019.
Given the unstable sanitary situation, the group does not expect a strong off-season, mainly in urban and pre-urban areas, due to the absence of international customers, with a decline in business travel and the extension of the ban on gatherings of more than 5,000 people.
In addition, the average spending has risen by 8%. In order to maintain their business, the network's hoteliers and restaurateurs have introduced takeaway sales in their restaurants, promotional offers, reinforced communication with their loyal customers, as well as the offer of cancellation insurance or flexibility in postponing reservations.
