Langham luxury hotel to open in China

Langham has signed an agreement to manage a new Langham Place luxury hotel in Datong, China. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2014.

The five-star Langham Place will be located in what is to become Datong’s fledgling commercial district, Yudong New Area, as part of the Hua Tang City complex. The hotel will offer 293 guestrooms, including 37 suites.Dining options feature the Ming Court Chinese restaurant, which is the hotel group's Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong. For events, various banqueting venues, such as a ballroom, will be offered.For relaxation, the hotel will feature the Chuan Spa which is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which will include private treatment and relaxation rooms. A fitness center and swimming pool are also part of the establishment’s offerings. For the business community, there will also be a range of well-equipped meetings spaces.According to Brett Butcher, chief executive officer of Langham Hospitality Group, "this development, in the prominent new economic district of Datong, presents an ideal opportunity to further establish our luxury brand in this exciting region."
