Sofitel’s smallest hotel gives way to La Maison Champs-Elysée, Paris’ latest boutique hotel and newest tenant at the Maison des Centraliens at 8, rue Jean Goujon.

It’s also the fashion industry’slatest collaboration with the hospitality industry, as the hotel is designed by Belgian’s biggest names in fashion, Martin Margiela. Behind the late 19th century façade, this Parisian townhouse in one the French capital’s wealthiest neighbourhoods welcomes its guests in a refurbished and original décor. The alumni association from the Ecole Centrale, who is also the hotel’s landlord, has chosen ODO as the hotel’s operator to pilot the project which called for architect Danièle Damon to re-visualize the hotel’s structure and add 17 rooms to the hotel’s existing 40. Mr. Margiela also brought his personal touch to the 80-place restaurant and bar which has direct access to the hotel’s private wooden patio. The Maison de Centraliens is equipped to handle the MICE portion of business with its exquisite rooms that date from the Napolean III regime and restored to their original state with today’s state-of-the art technology. This is Mr. Margiela’s first interior design work for a hotel, staying in-line with his minimalist and surreal style. The restaurant, La Table de Huit reflects the Martin Margiela style as well as Chef Benoît Hilaire’s, who created a menu that illustrates his personal interpretation of French classics. The establishment is managed by ODO, a new operator managed by Bernadette Chevallier (former president of Exclusive Hotels) along with Vincent Grimond (former CFO of Club Med) and Pierre Denizet (Former General Director of Pierre & Vacances and former member of Accor’s Executive Committee).
