
is reinforcing its African portfolio with the announced openings of five new establishments on the continent during the 2014 year. The Swiss hotel group's pipeline consists of Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra (Ghana) and the Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski in Cairo (Egypt). Agreements have also been signed for the developments of establishments in Olaya, the capital of Equitorial Guinea, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, expected to open before the end of 2014. "We will continue our development strategy in the continent over the next few years, via partnerships with key actors of the African market", stated Reto Witter, President of Kempinski Hotels. Kempinski Hotels currently has a portfolio of 80 establishments, in 31 countries, as well as 37 hotels under development. In Africa, the group operates hotels in Egypt, Djibouti, Chad, the Seychelles and Kenya (the Villa Rosa Kempinski and the Olare Mara Kempinski, opened in 2013).
