IHG to reopen Double Bay property

Sydney's Double Bay site has passed hands several times since its opening as the Stanford in 2001. Its latest manifestation was as the Ritz Carlton Double Bay hotel before closing in 2009. Now, after signing a management agreement with Royal Hotels, the establishment will become the InterContinental Sydney Double Bay hotel.The property will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation under Royal Hotels with the help of architectural firm Bates Smart. When all is done, the hotel will offer 140 guestrooms, ballroom accommodating up to 300 guests, meeting space, all-day dining, a café, lounge and bar, rooftop pool and bar, an arcade, and a health club or day spa.
