
The hotel group has announced that it will be developing its third establishment in London, the new-build InterContinental London - The O2 hotel and serviced apartments.
InterContinental Hotel Group has announced a management agreement with developer Balfour Beatty to manage The InterContinental London - The O2 hotel. It will be joining two other hotels in the London InterContinental-branded portfolio: InterContinental London - Westminster Hotel and InterContinental London - Park Lane (pictured).The hotel is part of a larger development project worth £121 million, Greenwich Peninsula, funded by Queensgate Investment Fund. The project includes the 454-room hotel (reportedly with Europe's largest pillar-free ballroom at 4,800 meters), a 23-storey serviced apartment building with 100 units, and VIP access to London's O2 Arena.Construction will begin this summer, with the opening expected for summer 2016.
