
InterContinental Hotels Group and Indonesian property developer Duta Anggada Realty have signed an agreement to open the Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada. The establishment, part of a mixed-use complex, will be the hotel group's first long-stay brand in the archipelago, set to open in 2015.The Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada will offer 447 guestrooms and serviced apartments. According to IHG COO for South-east Asia and resorts, Clarence Tan, "the property will answer the increasing demand for travel in Jakarta, especially from those who now need to stay for longer each time they visit". Tan points to very strong economic progress and industry trends as having fuelled this demand.IHG has its strongest pipeline of Southeast Asia in Indonesia, with over 20 hotels slated to open in the next few years, including six Holiday Inn and more than 10 Holiday Inn Express hotels.
