Hyatt announces global expansion of Independent Collection Brands with new hotel openings planned through 2025
Between 2021 and 2025, hotel openings under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Destination by Hyatt and JdV by Hyatt brands will complete the Hyatt portfolio in key global destinations.
New hotel openings planned for 2021 in Hyatt’s independent collection brands include properties in key markets around the world, including the first JdV by Hyatt hotels in Canada and Sweden, as well as the Hôtel du Palais Biarritz, under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand. Currently under renovation, the Hôtel du Palais Biarritz plans to reopen its doors at the end of March 2021 for the season, until October 31, 2021. After completing the final step of its renovation, the hotel plans to relaunch its activities at the summer 2022.
At the end of 2021, other hotels around the world will open under Hyatt signature, including Mission Pacific Hotel under JdV by Hyatt, The Seabird Resort and Le Shay under Destination by Hyatt in California, as well as the Commune by the Great hotel Wall under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Beijing.
By 2025, the independent collection of Hyatt brands is expected to welcome several new properties, through franchise and management agreements, including the entry of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand in Japan, Thailand and Mexico, as well as the Grand Hansa Hotel in Helsinki and the former Byblos Hotel under The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Mijas, Spain, for the European market.
In 2020, Hyatt completed its independent brands around the world with the opening of nine hotels including in the European market The Wellem, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Düsseldorf in October as well as Hotell Reisen, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Stockholm in November.
Formerly known as Destination Hotels, Destination by Hyatt hotels are a diverse collection of independent hotels, resorts and residences. The recently renamed JdV by Hyatt collection, the namesake for Joie de Vivre, is a group of independent hotels that fit into urban neighborhoods, including 14 properties. The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand has 25 properties around the world.
