New York

InterContinental Hotels Group's Hotel Indigo brand has signed its fifth New York City location in the financial district. Each Hotel Indigo property is designed to reflect the culture, character and history of the surrounding neighborhood. "The financial district has long been known for its commercial success, but it has recently experienced significant cultural development," said Mary Winslow, director, Hotel Indigo Brand Management. "Everyone knows that on Wall Street, time is money, but a lot of people may not know about the area's history in clock and watchmaking. We can't wait to show our guests how special this neighborhood really is." Scheduled to open in 2016, Hotel Indigo NYC Financial District hotel will be located this area that has been a center for precision over the ages, from handcraft to finances. The 25-floor, 190-room hotel will occupy 76,500 square feet on one of New York's oldest streets, Maiden Lane just a block away from the new One World Trade Center, designated as the tallest building in America and expected to be a significant anchor for Lower Manhattan's business and leisure visitors. The brand's other New York locations are in Brooklyn and Chelsea, and two more properties are in the pipeline for the Lower East Side and Flushing, Queens. Hotel Indigo is also expanding in Europe where the Hotel Indigo St. Petersburg Tchaikovskogo and Hotel Indigo Rome have just opened and the St. George Hotel Indigo Madrid Gran Via will open soon.
