
The world's fastest-growing hostel brand, The Generator, has acquired two new European properties for expansion into Rome and Paris. The acquisitions mark the brand's growth from two to ten properties for 6,400 beds in just three years."We passionately believe that Generator's design-inspired vision is raising the bar for the hostel industry and making style more accessible and affordable for the young traveller. We look forward to taking Generator's unique flavour to Paris and Rome as we continue our rapid international expansion", says Carl Michel, Executive Chairman of Generator.The Rome site will feature 80 rooms for 264 beds. The establishment will also feature a cafe, bar and lounge, and a 405-meter rooftop terrace. It will be located in a residential building on Via Principe Amedeo, walking distance from the Colosseum amphitheatre, and Termini Station and Metro to other major sites. Generator Rome will open in Spring 2014.The Paris site will be the brand's largest to date with 950 beds, including a range of dorms, private rooms and luxury penthouse apartments. The establishment will also feature a cafe, lounge and nightclub. It will be located in the Canal-St Martin neighborhood of the 10th arrondissement, with many galleries, boutiques, bars and restaurants, and15 minutes from la Gare de l'Est, Gare du Nord and Bastille. Generator Paris will open in late 2014.The group expects to have 15 locations by 2015.
