Four New Sofitel Hotels in Asia Pacific

Accor’s luxury hotel brand is to have more than 40 properties in operation across the Asia Pacific region by 2014m with four new hotels to open in 2013.

The Sofitel Luxury Hotels chain plans four openings across the Asia Pacific region this year, further strengthening the brand’s portfolio across the region to a total of 42 operating hotels.Planned openings this year include Singapore, Bali, and in China - Shanghai and Shenyang.“Sofitel has long been recognised for delivering the utmost in elegant hospitality and artistry based on our French heritage and collaboration with famous architects and designers. Asia Pacific is a key region for us and we aim to expand our luxury footprint here with another 12 properties committed to be in operation by 2016,” says Senior Vice President, Sofitel Asia Pacific, Markland Blaiklock.The group's expansion is part of a target of 150 hotels globally by 2015. There are plans to sign a further five Indian properties, whilst there are 10 construction projects underway in China. Wellington will also have its first Sofitel hotel opening in mid-2014, the third outlet in New Zealand for the Accor group.“Our recent signings demonstrate our commitment to the region, and our four upcoming openings in 2013 will help reinforce Sofitel’s positioning as the luxury French brand of choice,” adds Blaiklock.
