Rezidor Hotel Group has announced an active Q2 2013, with 11 hotel signings and 3 new openings for 2,250 rooms added to its network.
Rezidor Hotels Group has a current network of 335 hotels for 74,000 rooms spread across 56 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa after a successful second quarter. Q2 of 2013 saw 11 new signings and 3 new openings for a total of 2,250 rooms.The various locations of Rezidor's expansions mark its strategic focus on emerging markets. These include two signings in sub-Saharan Africa. According to Elie Younes, Senior Vice President & Head of Group Development of Rezidor, this region remains an important growth market to Rezidor, especially for the Radisson Blu upscale brand and the Park Inn by Radisson mid-market offer. The crown jewel, however, has been the Radisson Blu, Istanbul Pera with 130 rooms. The property is Rezidor's 4th Radisson Blu hotel in Istanbul, with yet another Radisson Blu scheduled to open in the destination in late 2013. This expansion will make the Rezidor group the largest international upper upscale operator in the country with 5 Radisson Blu hotels for more than 1,000 rooms."Both our openings and signings continue to reflect our focus on profitable, asset-light growth in the Emerging Markets of Russia/CIS and Africa and in selected focus countries like Turkey", says Wolfgang M.
