Presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the latest ceremony of the 2023 Hospitality Awards’ edition, Alfred Pisani was just adding a last chapter to his memoirs. The book, The Corinthia Spirit, was presented recently at the Corinthia St George in Malta before a large crowd of friends and associates.
The Corinthia Spirit is a tale of over 65 years of hotelier experience from his early years in 1962 at the age of 20 since nowadays and the presentation in November 2023 with the Hospitality Award in Paris. Chairman Alfred Pisani, 84 and still very active, traced his life through the challenging sixties until recent events dominated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The reason for the title lies in the certainty that his success was fruit of his determination and inspirational vision but also that of his family members and dedicated staff. All together they participated and still are participating to establish The Corinthia Spirit.

The presentation of the book was an opportunity for Mr Pisani to meet with all-time friends and past partners. It takes readers through the story of the expansion of the Corinthia group in several countries, but Alfred Pisani insisted on the purpose of it all: “People can view this book as a straightforward story about the creation of a hotel business over the past half century or so. Yet it is important for readers to appreciate that our journey began from a tiny Island with no natural resources which, back, in the 1960s, some people had not even heard of. This made our mission doubly difficult.”
Now under the operational management of CEO Simon Naudi, who acted as master of ceremony, the Corinthia Group is in an active phase of development with 8 properties to be added to the portfolio in the coming years.
