Carlson Rezidor is continuing its Asian expansion via partnerships. The group announced several contract signings to develop seven new hotels on the continent under its Radisson, Radisson Blu and Country Inns brands.The new developments will reinforce the group's presence in India with the opening of four hotels: the Radisson Blu Mumbai Essel World (200 rooms) in 2014, the Country Inns & Suites by Carlson Kota (84 rooms) in 2016, the Country Inns & Suites by Carlson Raipur (87 rooms) in 2016, and the Country Inn by Carlson Noida Extension (100 rooms) in 2016. China remains a priority for Carlson Rezidor's strategic development with two additional establishments: the Radisson Shanghai Qingpu (200 rooms) in 2013, and the Radisson Shanghai Pudong Jinqiao (250 rooms) in 2013. These developments will mark the group's entry into a new market as well, Indonesia, with the opening of the Radisson Batam for 222 rooms in 2015. These new hotels will bring the number of establishments the group has under development in Asia-Pacific to 65, where the group currently has a portfolio of 91 hotels.
