With 4,574 new rooms planned, the group continues its expansion.
BWH hotel openings per year:
In the short term, six BWH projects totaling 2,335 rooms are expected to be completed by the end of 2021. Two more with 340 rooms are planned for 2022, while a 116-room opening is scheduled for 2023. Another 11 hotels and 1,783 rooms are planned for 2024 and beyond.
Given this timeline, it's clear that BHW is betting more on stable than rapid expansion. Indeed, with most of the openings planned after 2023, the group is primarily interested in strengthening its market position while slowly expanding.
Main regional growth markets for BWH:
For North America, and more specifically the United States, 12 hotels and 1,710 rooms are planned.
APAC will receive five new properties, with a total of 2,469 rooms, suggesting a larger hotel size than the other projects. Three are located in Vietnam, adding 1,945 rooms in one of Southeast Asia's tourist destinations. For that region, The Best Western Premier Sapphire Ha Long will be the first to open. Scheduled to welcome guests from October 2021, the 1,008-room property will be part of the city's new hotel district. Next, it will be the turn of the Best Western Premier Quang Binh to open by the end of the year. This 561-room hotel will have direct access to a white sandy beach and pristine waters, while being close to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape that is home to Son Doong, the world's largest cave. Finally, the Best Western Premier Cam Ranh Seahorse Beach Resort, a 376-key resort with no opening date yet, is currently being planned on one of the best beaches in Vietnam.
BWH is also planning two launches (with 269 rooms) in Europe, both located in Germany. Finally, a 126-room opening is planned in Latin America.
