
After having announced the chain's interntions to debut in the country in spring, the Best Western Green Hill hotel has opened its doors in the city of Yangon.
A little over seven months after the group's announcement of its intentions to enter Myanmar, BWI has opened the Best Western Green Hill in Yangon. The hotel offers 189 guestrooms in Myanmar's largest city, with amenities including a restaurant and three meeting rooms for a total of 200 square meters of event space.The opening makes Best Western the first US-based hotel company to establish a presence in the country since it opened up to international investment. According to Glenn de Souza, BWI's Vice President of International Operations for Asia and the Middle East, BWI has great expectations for the market, and plans for the long-term.
