Best Western International will be the first hotel brand to locate in Myanmar, since the country's opening to foreign investors. The chain has effectively announced Green Hill hotel's affiliation with its network, as of Autumn 2013. Having been open for six months in the city of Rangoon, the establishment offers 189 rooms and will e operated under the Best Western name. "There is no doubt that Burma is one of the most flourishing hotel markets, with a strongly growing need to respond to the influx of business travelers and tourists. In this context, it is vital for local hotel owners to choose their commercial partners well", stated Glenn de Souza, Vice President of International Operation for Asia and the Middle East at Best Western International. Best Western International thus reinforces its presence in Southeast Asia by adding a ninth destination to its portfolio.
