Six months after opening its first and only property, in Fort Lauderdale, B Hotels & Resorts announces the second property to fly the flag.
The 250-key Continental Oceanfront South Beach Hotel in Miami Beach will undergo a yearlong renovation and repositioning and will be launched as part of the B Hotels & Resorts family in fall 2012. The hotel is owned by InSite Group and Cube Capital, which acquired the property for US$61 million in a joint venture earlier this year.The 240-key B Ocean Fort Lauderdale opened in January on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida.B Hotels & Resorts is led by Weinstein and Corporate Vice President Christopher Tompkins. The brand touts itself as an alternative for the conversion of existing flagged and independent hotels.
