
Both Swissôtel and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts have been planting their flags in Azerbaijan, both hotel groups having announced upcoming openings in the country within the past few weeks.
On the tails of the announcement of Swissôtel Baku's opening in 2015, Swissôtel's first property in Azerbaijan, Fairmont hotels has also announced its entrance into the market with the Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers.Baku is the capital city of Azerbaijan, and the country's economic and cultural center with several museums, theaters, and universities near the sites of the hotels.The Swissôtel Baku overlooks the city's bay from a 160-meter tower with 149 rooms and suites, as part of a mixed-use complex which will also include a Swissôtel Living in a separate tower with 45 furnished apartments and 80 Swissôtel Residences.The Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers will be located within the highest point in the city, offering 318 rooms and suites with views of the Caspian Sea. Amenities include a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, 2 500 square meters of events space.
