Andermatt Swiss Alps project underway

Egypt tourism development enterprise Orascom intends to revitalize Andermatt in Central Switzerland to bring it back to its international tourism hot spot status with the “Andermatt Swiss Alps” project.

In its final form, Andermatt Swiss Alps will consist of six upscale hotels with 844 rooms and 490 condos, 25 villas, and an 18-hole golf course, costing Orascom about 1,8 billion Swiss Francs.The first installment of this grand plan will be The Chedi hotel, expected to open in the beginning of the 2013 winter season. The Chedi will offer 50 luxury rooms and suites as well as an exclusive wellness and spa area. It will be operated by GHM, Global Hotel Management.
