Accor is reinforcing its presence in South Korea with a contract signing for the development of a new hotel complex on the city of Seoul, expected to open in 2017. It will be the largest hotel complex in the country with four establishments, operated under the Novotel, Suite Novotel, ibis Styles and Grand Mercure brands, for a total capacity of some 2,000 rooms. This development will introduce ibis Styles, Suite Novotel and Grand Mercure in the South Korean market. Accor will thus have a network of 12 hotels in the country, for more than 3,500 rooms spread over 5 cities. The group has other ongoing projects in the country, as it plans to open several ibis Budget units in cities like Dongdaemun, Chungmuro, Seoul, Busan and Haeundae, as well as an additional Novotel hotel in the coming years.
