Accor has announced significant progress in its Asia-Pacific development, particularly in Indonesia and Myanmar. In both markets, the French hotel group was amongst pioneers in bringing international brands to the countries, 20 years ago in Indonesia and only months ago in Myanmar.Today, Accor has nine brands in Indonesia, and has especially developed over the past 12 months: the group opened 18 properties over 2013, ranging from upscale to budget. The group's total network in the country will thus consist of more than 70 hotels spread over 24 cities by the end of the year. Over the 2014 year, Accor plans to open at least 17 hotels across Indonesia, for a network of at least 100 hotels in operation in Indonesia by 2015."Indonesia is a priority market for Accor in the Asia-Pacific region with significant potential for hotel expansion in the future and on which we are already leader. The dynamic expansion in this country illustrates our global expansion strategy, with a secured pipeline of more than 130,000 rooms with two thirds in emerging countries and on all market segments", explains Sébastien Bazin, Accor Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.In Myanmar, Accor has signed a management agreement with Myat Min Co Ltd to manage the Pullman Yangon Myat Min, the Sebel Yangon Myat Min, and Novotel Inle Lake Myat Min. This agreement doubles the hotel group's pipeline in the country, after it signed an agreement earlier this year for two Novotel establishments and one MGallery that saw the group's market entry. Over the next three years, the Pullman and Sebel brands will make their debuts in the emerging market."Southeast Asia has long been a strategic market for Accor, and as Myanmar's tourism industry develops, we see significant growth potential in this country as well.
