The brand does not hide its historical attachment to Magaluf and takes a step in the positioning of mature markets.
Meliá Hotels International inaugurated the last hotel in the vast project that the company has promoted for the last 7 years.
Meliá's ambition with the Calvia Beach The Plaza Hotel and Momentum Plaza shopping and leisure center is to create an innovative, emblematic hotel with new commercial premises and a new dynamic space, a new city centre in Magaluf for both residents and visitors.
The hotel in question has 273 rooms, including a rooftop terrace, while Momentum Plaza consists of the hotel's premises overlooking the new square, offering various local attractions, including gastronomy and shopping. The plaza is intended to become Magaluf's new meeting point.
Garbiel Escarrer admitted that it would have been "easy not to bet on this destination and to go more to other much more profitable destinations in the Caribbean or Southeast Asia, but the Escarrer family and Meliá have a commitment to Mallorca and Magaluf and personally I have spent most of my holidays in this region".
