With 82 million inhabitants, the Democratic Republic of the Congo is the fourth most populated country in Africa and has the second largest territory on the continent. Stretching between the Atlantic Ocean and the Great Lakes region, the country offers both cultural diversity and fascinating natural abundance. Today, close to 11% of the surface of the country consists of conservation areas that protect its exceptional wildlife and plant life: between equatorial forest, savanna, highlands and volcanoes, the DRC has a wide variety of options to boost tourism.

Despite the Congo-Kinshasa's assets and remarkable natural heritage -with 5 sites on the UNESCO's World Heritage List and 3 on the Tentative List, the conflicts that have ravaged the country have had terrible repercussions on tourism. Today, the Congo-Kinshasa remains one of the poorest countries...
