The destination, popular because of its beaches and protected from the safety issues faced by other Mediterranean resort destinations (Turkey, North Africa…), also benefited from measures aiming to ease access to the island and reduce the seasonality of the destination, and from the rise in demand from the Russian and British (Cyprus’ largest market source in 2016) source markets.
As of January 1, 2017, the Cyprus hotel market remains dominated by the same groups. TUI consolidates its leadership with its brand Atlantica. TUI stands above Louis Hotels and Thomas Cook.
