In recognition of Earth Day, Kerzner International has become a member of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, marking a key step in its commitment to sustainable hospitality. The Alliance unites over 100 organizations to push forward environmental and social responsibility in the hospitality sector.

Strengthening commitment to sustainable

Hospitality Kerzner International, known for its luxury destinations under brands like Atlantis, One&Only, and SIRO, has expanded its sustainability efforts by joining the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance.

With this membership, the company aligns itself with a global movement that encompasses over 66,000 hotels and 8 million rooms worldwide, all working towards a Net Positive Hospitality goal. This initiative ensures that the hospitality sector contributes more to the environment and society than it takes, enhancing its overall impact.

“It’s significant that on Earth Day, the Alliance welcomes Kerzner to our movement – a community of industry leaders pioneering a prosperous future where hospitality uplifts people, honours our planet, and enriches communities. We look forward to Kerzner showcasing best practices and sharing knowledge as we look to drive meaningful change, ensuring a more sustainable and resilient future for hospitality worldwide.” - Glenn Mandziuk, CEO of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance

Kerzner’s role in advancing sustainability

Philippe Zuber, CEO of Kerzner International, emphasized the company’s responsibility as custodians of some of the world’s most iconic destinations:

“At Kerzner, as custodians of some of the world’s most extraordinary locations, we understand our unique responsibility to safeguard these natural treasures for generations to come. Through our iconic brands—Atlantis, One&Only, SIRO, and Rare Finds—we are committed to reimagining hospitality in a way that uplifts communities and safeguards our natural world."

By joining the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, Kerzner aims to collaborate with other members to develop and implement practical sustainability solutions. The focus is on fostering innovation, sharing knowledge, and supporting the long-term prosperity of both destinations and communities.

Moving toward net positive hospitality

As part of this new partnership, Kerzner will work with the Alliance’s global network to share best practices and ensure that its operations contribute positively to environmental and social outcomes.

This aligns with Kerzner’s broader commitment to Net Positive Hospitality, a goal that aims to restore more to the planet and communities than what is taken through business operations.

Kerzner’s move to join the Alliance is part of its ongoing sustainability journey, supporting both global and local communities through environmentally conscious hospitality practices.
