Summary _ The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Program created by CapitaLand in 2011 is made up of an Environmental Management System and an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. After an external audit by the group TUV, CapitaLand received ISO 14001 (environment) and OHSAS 18001 (health and safety) certifications in November 2011 for properties all over the world. _ CapitaLand EHS Policy carries out practices to minimize pollution and health and safety risks, offering the opportunity for our guests to also participate. This program seeks continual improvement, with a regular update of procedure and control and a will to do more than what local legislations require. _ A global structure ensures the implementation and follow-up of the program: a worldwide responsible for Ascott properties, EHS assistant managers for each area/country, area assistants, a task group, document controllers and internal auditors. Every residence manager is responsible for the implementation of the EHS program in his property. We also ensure that suppliers, contractors and partners are seeking to support actions and to apply best practices in properties._ Towards group s staff, EHS program prevents accidents and seeks to maintain good health at the workplace through an integrated and structured approach. _ Towards clients, the program encourages them to protect the environment thanks to little action like separating waste, and ensures a secure place where standards are respected.Initiatives undertaken by The Ascott Limited in Europe, to positively impact the communities around its properties, include actions like: _ * Annual participation in the Earth Hour initiative by our properties in Asia Pacific and Europe * Wear Less / Wear More Day campaign in conjunction with Earth Hour to encourage less reliance on air-conditioning or heaters to conserve energy * Recycling bins for staff to sort hazardous products, glass, batteries, bulbsƒ * Inviting the staff to print less and to switch off lights * Program for staff security: training, material, personal protection equipment * Green Procurement Guideline * Recycling center and recycling bags in order to encourage guests to sort out their wastes * Shopping trolleys for the guests, to avoid the use of plastic bags for shopping * Inviting guests to switch off lights and to limit the frequency of towels replacing * Wifi Code and invoice sent on mobile phone or by email to limit printing * Different initiatives like the collection of bottles cap for Bouchons d Amour, the participation to La Parisienne race to fight against breast cancer, action with Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque _ These initiatives are communicated through CapitaLand sustainability portal, Green Frog Policy Card given to all employees, posters in the residences for our guests, stickers in the apartments _ The Ascott Limited s commitment is well summed-up in this tagline: We show we care for people by showing our care for the very Earth we all share.
