Wellness has entered the Sultanate of Oman by the front door. This new 5* hotel, located at Al Barka, north of Muscat opened its doors in the autumn of 2005 under the management of Coral International Hotels, Resorts & Spas and is owned by the group Al Bahja. Surrounded by three hectares of luxuriant botanical gardens, the hotel is intended to reflect Omanian luxury, and is the perfect incarnation of a peaceful haven where time and stress are inexistent. It is above all the first resort in the sultanate with a wellness axis through its upscale spa where ancestral Ayurvedic techniques are combined with the most modern procedures (bio-stimulation, warm stones, magnetic therapy...). The property consists of 109 luxury bungalows including 24 specially designed rooms for individual spa treatment complemented by activities such as “vapor tunnel” sessions, or yoga in the underground meditation center. The restaurant also exudes this 100% wellness spirit, and gives an important position to spa cuisine, as well as local and international gastronomy.
