Born on November 16, 1993 in Bishama Katek, India, at 18 Ritesh Agarwal invented Oyo Rooms, based on the simple idea federating hotels throughout India around set standards and distributing them via Internet and creating a network identity. In two years, Oyo Rooms grew from 1 to 2,500 hotels and raised $125 million.
At 19 he was the first resident Asian to be one of 20 recipients of the Thiel Fellowship (founded by Peter Thiel, Co-Founder of PayPal and early Investor in Facebook). The foundation finances promising startups and he received $100,000.
He has been featured in Forbes 30 under 30 in Consumer Tech (2016) for creating a global disruptor
