Herve Humler

Herve Humler is President and Chief Operations Officer of The Ritz-Carlton, Bulgari Hotels and Resorts and St. Regis Hotels and Resorts. He is widely respected throughout the luxury hotel industry, having led the strategic vision and global growth strategy for The Ritz-Carlton and Bulgari Hotels over the past seven years, and now, providing his expertise to over 175 properties located across the globe.

Humler’s responsibilities span across a global business with a growing number of brand extensions; The Ritz-Carlton Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, The Ritz-Carlton Residences, The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club, St. Regis Hotels and Resorts, St. Regis Residences, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts and Bulgari Residences.

In his role with these iconic luxury brands, Humler is guiding these properties through a period of unprecedented growth and evolution. The portfolio is branching out on all fronts with significant expansion across Asia, changing aesthetics of hotel design and dynamic initiatives in the realms of service delivery and quality assurance to name a few. Entrusted with continuing to grow the elevated status of some of the most recognizable names in luxury today, Humler is based in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Significant achievements during his presidency at The Ritz-Carlton include maintaining the top-ranked position in the luxury hotel segment of the J. D. Power and Associates North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study for eight years. Humler was also personally recognized as the No. 40 Thought Leader in Trustworthy Business, by Trust Across America – Trust Around the World as well as with the Hospitality Industry “Good Scout” Award by the Boy Scouts of America, Cradle of Liberty Council.

Mr. Humler is a proud supporter of corporate social responsibility which was a key part of The Ritz-Carlton original 1983 mission statement that he helped craft. Under his leadership, The Ritz-Carlton Community Footprints® program was recognized by the Points of Light Institute with the Corporate Engagement Award of Excellence, which honors companies that have created a culture that inspires and equips employees to volunteer and make an impact in their communities. The Ritz-Carlton also became the first Founding Partner of IMPACT 2030 – The Global Initiative for the Advancement of Corporate Volunteering to contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Prior to his current appointment, he served as The Ritz-Carlton Global Chief Operations Officer and head of the brand’s international region, where he presided over the operations of hotels and resorts in South America, Asia, Africa, The Middle East, and Europe. One of the original founders of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Humler held senior management positions at hotels in California, Georgia and Hawaii. Before joining The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, he was with Hyatt Hotels, Intercontinental Hotels and The Princess Hotel in Bermuda.

A resident of Washington, D.C., Herve lives with his wife and two children, is a native of France and holds a baccalaureate degree from the University of Abidjan.
