Don Cleary

Don Cleary

Don Cleary is President of Marriott Hotels of Canada, with responsibility for the development, leadership, operation and financial management of all Marriott International brands in Canada. In this role, Mr. Cleary led the transition of the managed and franchised Delta hotels into the Marriott portfolio.

Mr. Cleary, who began his Marriott career more than 25 years ago, previously was Chief Operations Officer, Asia Pacific where he had operating responsibility for the region’s 175 hotels and played an integral role in the development of that portfolio. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Cleary also served as the Chief Financial Officer, Asia Pacific, where he led all continent finance functions.

Prior to joining the Asia Pacific team in 2010, Mr. Cleary held multiple leadership positions in North America including Area Vice President for the Western Region, where he was responsible for hotel operations covering mid-western states and Canada. Mr. Cleary also held multiple positions focused on Asset Management and Development, including Senior Vice President, Asset Management, Vice President, International Hotel Development for Central and South America, and Assistant General Council responsible for all development-related legal activities in those regions.

Mr. Cleary received his bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of Notre Dame. He also earned his law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
