Bill Ernest serves as president and managing director of Asia for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s parks and resorts operations and development throughout Asia, including Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland with the Oriental Land Company and Shanghai Disney Resort. Bill has a wealth of experience in managing hotels and operations.
Bill previously served as executive vice president and managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the resort. When Bill first joined Hong Kong Disneyland, he served as the managing director of operations responsible for areas such as safety, merchandise, entertainment, engineering, attractions, industrial engineering, custodial, costuming and hotels.
Prior to joining Hong Kong Disneyland, Bill was the vice president of operations and support for Disney Cruise Line where he was instrumental in launching the business. Under his leadership, Disney Cruise Line enjoyed tremendous success with some of Disney Cruise Line’s best ever guest satisfaction ratings.
He has also served as vice president of resort operations at Walt Disney World, general manager of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's All-Star Resorts and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, as well as general Manager of field businesses for Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.
Prior to joining Disney, Bill opened more than 40 hotels for the Marriott Corporation and was responsible for the management of Courtyards and Fairfield Inns throughout Florida and Georgia.
Bill received his bachelor’s and master's degrees in hospitality management and recreational management from Southern Illinois University.
