Considering the staff: IHG celebrates service for a second year in a row

IHG launched a program last year, Celebrate Service Week, that was a great success and CEO Andrew Coslett, before leaving the helm of the company, decided to renew the event in 2011. Finalist in 2010 at the Hospitality Awards, the event is a week-long celebration where participating hotels say “thank you” to their staffs for providing “Great Hotel Guests Love”.

According to the Harvard University’s Business Review, employees desired four specific types of praise: personal praise, written praise, public praise and electronic praise.
