Who won the award for best technological innovation at the GLF?

The trophy for best technological tourism innovation was awarded to a startup and a supplier at the Global Lodging Forum. Discover all the finalists and winners.

This year, the Global Lodging Forum has had the pleasure of awarding the best technological tourism innovation to a startup and a supplier. The candidates were evaluated according to three criteria and the choice was finalized by an online vote.

Among the candidate startups, the award for the best technological innovation was awarded to Skinjay. This company has adapted the concept of the coffee capsule to the shower thanks to a premium device that installs quickly and effortlessly on any type of shower. These cosmetic capsules are natural and deliver essential oil-based fragrances to the shower's water so that users can live new sensorial experiences.

Two other startups were finalists:

·         Tourism Academy is the first start-up mobilizing techniques used for Massive Open Online Courses that revolutionize training for the tourism industry. In partnership with Atout France, Tourism Academy produced the MOOC Accueil France.



·         Speakhotel is a multi-services app dedicated to the hotel business. It may be used free of charge and is multilingual. Its main goal is to simplify and optimize the client’s experience at a hotel. People who use Speakhotel app are called “Speakers”.



The event also divided the candidate suppliers. The Award for best technological innovation went to Lutron which offers the hotel room management software myRoom Vue, a dashboard used by the hotel's technical director to control the intelligent management systems myRoom Plus. It is a powerful, easy-to-use web interface that makes it possible to control and adjust lights, HVAC systems and Lutron’s rods or motorized blind systems in hotel rooms using a tablet or desktop browsers. It saves energy and reduces operating costs while continuing to satisfy customers.

Among the candidate suppliers, two other companies were finalists:

·         Menumodo which offers innovative solutions for online management and display of maps and menus. Designed primarily for hotels, menumodo is also adapted to restaurants.



·         Onyx is also a finalist and offers the INSCEHO certification program. This is an independent initiative that aims to give hotels the means to take full commercial advantage of the investments they make for the safety of their customers.
