The American group is launching a global competition of innovations in the field of food & beverage for hospitality by inviting all creators to present their project on the site Canvas. A selection of the most viable projects will be used and experimented in Marriott hotels to prepare the new generation of hotel F&B.

The new Canvas program, launched by Marriott International headquarters, is intended as an incubator for new F&B concepts that sink into the roots of the born in Washington DC in 1927 with a stand of non-alcoholic drinks .

Two hotels will act as "in vivo" laboratories, the JW Marriott Shenzhen in China and the Renaissance Phoenix in the United States. A dozen other properties should join them in the next six months. Locally, a team of restaurateurs, barmen, hoteliers will be invited to select which suggestions are worthy of  promotion by Marriott which will open the laboratory hotels up to the winners. After six months under operation, an evaluation will determine the success met by the proposed formulas with the public in terms of profitability.

Marriott International plans to use this reservoir for ideas, validated on site, to prefigure future concepts that will be unfurled throughout a brand on its entire global or regional network.
